Mon Nov 19, 2001 | day 70
Well, it has been more than 72 hours since my last email. An email where I predicted I would be writing this from the comfort of home in Pasadena, California. However, a distraction kept me from catching a plane and so I am still here in Europe.
We met in the Vienna train station on Saturday. As I was waiting for my train to Paris, she was waiting for her train to Berlin. However a few key words and 20 minutes later, I somehow convinced her to exchange tickets and come along with me to Paris for a week.
That was two days ago.
Since then, we haven't spent more than a few minutes apart. And what better city to have a romance in than in Paris? Honestly, if you haven't experinced Paris through the eyes of lovers, you haven't experinced the city at all.
We have spent a lot of "quality time" together visiting the sites and strolling the boulevards. We went to the top of the Eiffel Tower at night, watched the boats go by on the Seine from the bridges, pleasantly sat on a bench in front of the Notre Dame, and walked hand-in-hand down the cobblestone streets of Montmartre and The Latin Quarters (my favorite parts of Paris).
We know that there is an end to our relationship in the very near future, but it is possible that this very thought could be the fuel to our heart's fire.
I couldn't have predicted a better end to such an amazing, unforgettable adventure around Europe...
I miss you all and hope to see you after Thanksgiving.
Who wears his heart on his sleeve proudly.
